First and foremost, shermadelic props to mylo927 for the find on Editors. a few half dozen IMs and I finally put the ears to the frequency and was pickin up what he was puttin down.
So depending on who you talk to Interpol is the reincarnation of Joy Division (just a bit more business-like, see). So what do you do with Editors?
Four lads from different parts of England found each other at University in Stafford and post grad chose to hang their hats in Birmingham. When you seek out editors for yourself you will find easy comparisons to Interpol and Joy Division. Stop. Do yourself a favor and listen/see this band independently of its easily sound-alike cousins. Part of what gets my nipples cutting glass on this album is that the states haven’t discovered them yet. There is a musical “je ne sais quois” about finding a band that isn’t shoved down your throat yet. Its like having sex for the first time- you have an idea of how its gonna go, but you really don’t know what yer gonna get…i digress. “The Back Room” is the first full length album by Editors. Released 25 July 2005, the first track “light” immediately grabs the listener. Who is this? I’ve heard it before but i haven’t… you are not alone. “Munich” follows up as a strong 2nd cut and so continues the journey. “Camera” displays the bands diversification as they prove they are not 2 dimensional. “bullets” and “someone says” pick up the tempo as we roll thru the 2nd half of the album. Even the first go ’round if you don’t think this is worthy of a second spin just do yourself a favor and put it on in the background. Next thing you will be listening to it in the car. Editors is a band that has an undiscovered quality that separates them from the immediate comparisons. Give it a go and when they come stateside we can all raise a pint and enjoy it in Editors stylee…….
Check out this sample track, “Blood” from their album “Bullets” for your first listen and then swing by their site for additional bits and video.

Editors are just the same as every other boring band in the UK, following in the vain of Elbow the Doves etc.
I saw them before they were signed and thought they were ok.Just another in a long line of gloomy rock and that is easy to pin down and even easier to forget.
Not my thing at all. However they play well, but i found the album to be dull and very predicatable. Like the review suggests ,yes, i’ve heard it all before so why listen to it, it’s an old statement.
