When I downloaded Google’s Send To Phone extension for Firefox a few weeks ago I thought it was just a novelty thing. It ends up that I actually use it quite a bit. Whether it is to send myself a reminder or to send a friend a phone number or directions on the run, it is pretty damn useful and easy to use.

After installing the extension and restarting firefox you will see a little phone icon at the top of the browser. When you want to send something to someone’s cell phone, you just highlight the text that you want to send, hit the icon, put in the telephone number and provider, and hit send. In a few seconds the info that you just sent will be received via a text by your friend. Pretty cool.

Just make sure you friend has unlimited texting before you slam them with stupid crap. Next’s month bill could be painful.

Enjoy.
