I always thought a great concept for a Food Network show would be the “How To Feed a Bachelor Something Besides Ramen Noodles” or something like that. The recipes would be straight forward using cheap and common ingredients from your local market. The turn around time would be under 30 minutes and there would be special shows focus on those special bachelor times like “How to impress a lady with flank steak” or “How to make the same appetizers you eat at your local Sports Bar” or even “How to Salvage That Left Over General Gau’s Chicken”. Maybe someone will read this and give me a call. For now, check out the Great Free Online Recipes Blog for some daily straightforward recipies that I think any bachelor with a stove and half a brain could whip up.

Here is a sample recipe:

Hot Teriyaki Beef Jerky Recipe

2 lbs eye of round, london broil
5 tablespoons of course rock salt
3 tablespoons of black pepper
1 tablespoon of crushed red pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
6 oz. molasses
6 oz. teryaki sauce
5 oz. soy sauce
3 oz. A1 Bold and Spicy sauce
1 teaspoon of your favorite hot sauce.

Trim and slice the meet to your liking and set aside. Mix all remaining ingredients in a large plastic bowl. The mixture will be a little gritty, but keep mixing until you’re satisfied that all of the dry ingredients (except the rock salt) are being absorbed.

Add the meat and mix until all meet is at least glazed over. Top with water until all meat is completely submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 12 hours, but no longer than 18 hours. Place the meat on a conventional oven at 175 degrees for 6 hours, turn meat over every three hours.

mmmmmmmmmm…Jerky.

Enjoy
