I was watching my local news last night and there was a story about advertising gone bad. The New England chain, Building 19, which is known for it’s dirty stores full of overstock goods and it’s humorous fliers, has got some people’s panties in bunch. It all stems from this ad. It is basically a calling to all men who need some underwear. They have recently bought 21,478 packages of tightie whities and tee-shirts including “White Wife Beaters“. I guess it is ok for ever person (male or female) that I know or movies and tv shows to call tank tops “wife beaters”, but if Building 19 says it, then people are going to start disrespecting women and make light of the domestic violence issue we have in the world today. It is funny cause most of the folks that I hear using that term are my women friends. Go Figure.

Anyways…I am not sure what “3 White Skivvies” is supposed to mean, but as a white guy in my 30’s there is always a chance that I should be offended right now. I will have to do some research on what skivvie is slang for. Maybe Mr. Gump could help me sue someone.

As far as Buildling 19 goes I recommend checking it out. It is definately an experience and is a great place to load up you dorm room or first apartment with cheap shit. Also, there aren’t many places you can find a case of 20 year old toothpaste for under 5$.
