Almost ten years ago I was at the legendary Boston punk rock club The Rat and I was witness to an unbelievable performance by a local hardcore band named Cast Iron Hike. After seeing them I ran out and purchased their self-titled EP which was equally amazing. While building a loyal following of hardcore/emo fans, CIH released their much anticipated debut album “Watch It Burn”. The album was a dissapointment and the band pretty much faded away. Now lead singer Jake Brennan has re-emerged with a new band and a new sound. The Confidence Men have been making a name for themselves playing rootsy-melodic, classic blues rock in the mold of ‘Exile’-era Stones. Their debut album, ‘Love And Bombs’, is out now.
