Local Boston Band Of The Week - Read Yellow

Formed in 2001, the four former UMass students started playing regularly around Amherst and soon found their way to Boston, where they were signed to Fenway Recordings, who released their debut self-titled EP. With an underground Emo sound that reminds some of bands like Quicksand and ….Trail Of Dead, Read Yellow have allready invaded England, scoring rave reviews and receiving major radio airplay. Their full-length Debut, ‘Radios Burn Faster‘, explores what the band calls “the energy of noise”, both melodic and ferocious with soaring guitar riffs and “tales of murder and life”. This is a great band with a promising future. Check them out at myspace.com sounding allmost Helmet-like on their cover of The Smiths classic ‘Bigmouth Strikes Again’, from the ‘How Soon Is Now’ compilation.
