On Sept. 24, one of Boston’s best local bands of the 90’s, The Gravel Pit, will be reuniting for a special show at T.T. The Bears in Cambridge. Formed in New Haven in the 80’s, and relocating to Boston in 1994, The Pit became a local favorite for it’s 60’s influenced garage party anthems and an artsy sort of power-pop sound with a punk rock edge. The Pit’s enthusiastic live performances are lead by singer Jedediah Parish’s strong voice and quirky lyrics. The Boston Globe called their music,”Dumb rock for smart people”. Check them out at T.T’s, tickets are only ten dollars, and the band goes on at 11:45

Check out their site’s recordings page to sample some of their gear.

One of my favorite boston bands ever, ever. I wish I lived anywhere near there so I could go see them when they randomly get together. There is a band here in NC that sounds like they went back in time and straight ripped off the gravel pits mid-late 90s style. They are called the future kings of nowhere and though they dont come close to sounding quite as cool they are nearly a straight mimic. Thanks for reminding me how good you guys are.
