Looks like the first somewhat “open source” radio station is coming online. 1550 KYCY, an AM station out of San Franciso, will begin broadcasting listener submitted podcasts over their AM airwaves and their online streaming server.
KYOURADIO is the first radio station in the world to get all of its programming from podcasts. Everyday we’ll feature new, innovative and cutting edge programs produced by people like you. Your original thoughts and sounds will be broadcast in San Francisco on the revolutionary 1550 KYCY-AM and streamed worldwide at KYOURADIO.com.
It looks like Inifinity Broadcasting will cover all of the fees associated with the music rights, so individuals should be able to use most commerical music in their casts. Cool stuff.
Check out ipodder.org for more info on what a podcast is.

WHFS - Back on the Air (sort of)
For everyone who was disappointed when the once-great WHFS signed off of the airwaves, they’re back. AOL Radio is broadcasting WHFS — let’s just hope that the format returns to the HFS of its earlier days.
