OK, First things first. We all know the best thing to do with alcohol when you are bored is drink it. That is just what I did tonight. On this cold and rainy night here in Somerville, I have found myself cuddled up with a nice 6 pack of Smuttynose Pumkin Ale. Let me tell you, this stuff is quite tasty. Now being that I am a dude and most of society would call this and others that I enjoy, “chick beers”, I have to admit I do enjoy this pumkin pie tasting brew almost as much, if not more, than another blue berry beer that I dig from the Boston Beer Works. Though I am not sure I can forsake my enjoyment for beer with blue berries floating in it. For all those “chick beer” drinking guys out there, I will take the masculinity shot for a beverage that I truly enjoy.

Anyways, that is not why we are here tonight. We are here because I am 4 beers deep (well 5 by the time I proof read this bitch) and doing some late night work and came across some interesting things to try with Alcohol on hackaday.com. First is the Guiness Beersicle.
Though I couldn’t find the actually technique on how to pull this off, here is a picture of what the end result should look like. I assume the stature of that stout makes it well formed for holding up during the slow freeze process.

The second and final experiment is taking some shitty vodka, maybe a little Vladimir or something in the same genre, and filtering it through a Brita. Check out this great post for the play by play on how to do it and how the taste performed against other higher end selections.

If anyone has any other alcoholic games, I am all ears. Maybe around the holidays I will let loose my Old Fashion Anna Jackson Egg Nog recipe which should keep you busy for a while. Well at least till you can’t see straight and start vomiting from the Salmonella.
