Thanks to Jeff McCord’s post on “Getting Woopra to Install on Your Mac” I was able to get the Woopra desktop application running on my home machine (Mac OS). This guy saved me a lot of time and frustration.
BTW…Woopra is as good as it looks. Check out this video to see what I mean.

I live in Arlington, MA, which is a stone’s throw from downtown Boston. I am also an avid golfer. Unfortunately those two things don’t really snuggle up to one another. In order for me to find a “nice” (yes…I am a bit of a golf course snob) course to play I have to drive at least 30 to 40 minutes. When one is a golf addict a 40 minute drive is nothing. That explains why my ass was up at 4:45am this lovely Sunday morning. I had a tee-time in Maine at 6:40am. Yup that’s right…Maine. Trust me, it is always worth the pain of waking up when it is nearly light out if you have a round of golf waiting for you.
So what course got me to drive 1.5 hours north on 95 at that ungodly hour? The Links at Outlook in South Berwick, Maine. This was my first excursion to this track and it did not disappoint. If you like links style courses then you will love this one. Unlike most courses around here, where penalties tend to come from woods and water hazards, Outlook seems to pride itself in it’s rough. Long and scraggly like the back of a wet sheepdog, this over grown turf turned a wide open set of holes into a tight track that forced you to pay attention and avoid spraying your shots. With it’s fast greens and Maine-esque elevation drops, Outlook offers even the season player a challenge.
I highly recommend the drive if you have the time. The pace of play was great and of course the people were friendly…seriously..people from Maine have to be right behind the folks from Minnesota when it comes to friendliness. It certainly help to make this sleepy hacker happy that he made the trek.

I have been cleaning house. I just got back from dropping off 8 BIG bags of clothes and such at the Salvation Army. It is actually quite liberating. It feels like I went from living in Building 19 to sleeping under the stars in a cold Utah desert canyon. I highly recommend the purge.
Don’t get me wrong. I am not giving away all of the farm. In fact after many years of buying things on eBay, I decided to start selling some things. Hell, I would rather have $29 for a digital camera I have had in my closet for 3 years than having an unused digital camera in my closet for another 2 years. So let the games begin. Come buy some of akaRaff’s stuff. This is only the beginning and is one great step towards me living more simple. And yes, I did wear that shirt at some point in time.
I will autograph any item at the buyers request.
Enjoy.
Thanks to Vintage Modernista for showing me more than I should know about eBay.
What happens when you combine random music snippets with a stream of random Flickr photos? You get something amazing called Islands of Consciousness. The result is stuck between creepy and beautiful.
If you are looking for the social network that is right for you or some Web 2.0 application that is to die for, this is a great place to start.
Oh. Another music search engine and internet jukebox. Songza is promising..or it at least delivers on what it promises.
This is a SD memory card with a wireless card built in. You snap a picture and it is sent to your favorite photo sharing site. Just another thing that would end up at the bottom of my junk drawer.
The title of this video screams sexiness. The actual video just screams. I can’t not watch it.
I usually don’t have enough time to work through all of the “best of” lists that come around at the end of each year but this list of links from 2007 kept me engaged for a hour or so.
This 3 year old is an amazing artist. This boys got mad skills. I was doubtful at first but by the end I was humbled.
Zoe is a cool kid. Her dad is a big wig at Yahoo named Ian Rogers. She recently opened up as a guest DJ for the Beastie Boys because her dad used to run with them at Grand Royal. She has her own radio show on Little Radio called Zoe Radio that she started when she was 13. She just got accepted to MIT. She rocks.

I am on quite a roll as of late and am lovin’ it! The Orpheum Theater in downtown Boston is spoiling me. First it was 2nd row at the Dresden Dolls last month and last night it was the 3rd row for Editors. I would like to give props to my buddy Shermadelic who was able to pull these twin seats for this great show. Even though I think the theater may have been a bit large for Editors to fill with their sound, I definitely enjoyed the 80 minute set that unfolded in front of us. If you haven’t heard Editors before, take a listen to the tracks provided. They are sure to get you arse off the couch on a cold Sunday morning like this.
